Getting The Conversation Started

Often there’s a disconnect between the conversations we know we need to have and the conversations we do have. When students are struggling with their mental health, often parents are aware that their child needs help but don’t know what to do or how to start the conversation. These conversations can be difficult for everyone involved, and Find the Light seeks to empower students and parents to rethink difficult conversations and approach the situation as a partnership. Find the Light teaches parents what questions to ask, when to give kids their privacy, and most importantly how to listen. We give parents the tools to be involved in their children’s mental health from learning how to talk about emotions at home to resources for getting kids professional help when necessary. We believe that mental health should be a priority at any age, and we hope to improve outcomes by giving students and parents the tools to face mental hurdles together.
